SAVE: Sustainable Actions and Vision for a better Environment
SAVE was a public-private partnership that helped garment and footwear factories in Asia use less energy, water and materials. It was set up by PUMA and DEG, with H&M and the NGO ASSIST as collaborators, and reported on in PUMA's 2014 annual report.

What it set out to do
The assessments identified changes that would cut factories' operating costs while reducing their environmental impact and improving conditions for surrounding communities, so that each improvement addressed the economic, environmental and social sides of sustainability at once.
PUMA listed SAVE alongside other supplier initiatives it rolled out in 2014: the Sustainable Apparel Coalition's Higg Index facilities module, environmental data collection from key material suppliers, dedicated environmental audits, the ZDHC manufacturing restricted substances list and publishing waste-water data through the Chinese NGO Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs (IPE).
